Topic:3D Organoids: Regeneration and remodeling disease in a dish

Speaker: Prof. Huili Hu

Time: 10:00, March 18th

Location: N1-303, Qingdao Campus

Host: Prof. Ming Shao

About the speaker:

Huili Hu is a professor of School of Basic Medical Sciences of Shandong University and a young expert of Taishan Scholars of Shandong Province. She was also granted Young Scholar of Qilu of Shandong University. Her research group’ overall interest is to understand tissue regeneration mechanism by using organoids to study cell plasticity and disease pathogenesis. Her study can promote the transformation and application of organoids. The establishment of a 3D organoid culture model derived from human/mouse liver cells can provide key technologies to clarify the mechanism of liver cell regeneration and also provides the possibility for individualized medical treatment. As the first author or corresponding author, she has published 20 articles in leading international journals such as Cell, Cancer Cell, Cell Discovery, CDD, Oncogenesis, and as a co-author in Cell Stem Cell, Nature Protocols, JCI, Cancer Research, The Journal of Pathology, etc. Her research team received funding from: 1 National Key Research and Development Program "Stem Cell and Transformation Research" Young Scientist Project, 3 National Natural Science Foundation Major Research Program Cultivation and General Projects, 3 Provincial and Ministerial Projects. She was invited to speak at the European Society for Molecular Biology EMBL Conference (2018), Austrian IMBA Stem Cell Conference (2019), China Stem Cell Annual Conference (2019), and Chinese Cell Society Annual Conference (2020). She was also served as a reviewer for Gastroenterology, JMCB, Cell Regeneration. She was a member of the Science Popularization Branch of Shandong Medical Association, and the leader of the youth cross-science innovation group of Shandong University.
