The forum was chaired by Prof. Wei-Hua Guo, the vice director of School of Life Sciences, Shandong University. Prof. Masato Machida, associate Prof. Makiko Kobayashi and assistant Prof. Yousuke Katsuda from Kumamoto University,Japan participated in the forum. Prof. Zi-Cong Li, Prof. Xiang-Zhi Li, Prof. Xu Fang, assistant Prof. Hui Wang and assistant Prof. Ying-Ying Wang attended the forum.

During the forum, five presentations given including the Development of catalytic materials for high-temperature applications and corrosive environment (Prof. Masato Machida), The role of histone acetyltransferase MOF in Tumorigenesis and Inflammatory disease (Prof. Xiang-Zhi Li), Development of a next-generation nucleic acid medicine (Assist. Prof. Yousuke Katsuda), Metabolic engineering of the D -erythrose 4-phosphate biosynthetic pathway for tyrosol production in saccharomyces cerevisiae (Prof. Xu Fang) and HIC1 deletion promotes breast cancer progression by activating tumor cell/fibroblast crosstalk (Assist. Prof. Ying-Ying Wang).

The forum strengthened the communication between Shandong University and Kumamoto University and gave the visitors a deep impression about the School of Life Sciences of Shandong University and the big achievement the school got in the research field.
